1926 (No Mint Mark) Philadelphia $2.5 Gold Indian Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) Condition

Boston sculptor Bela Lyon Pratt was the designer of this and the similar half eagle piece. A pupil of the famous Augustus Saint-Gaudens, Pratt based his "standing eagle" motif on the reverse of his teacher's gold ten dollar coin from 1907. Referred to as Indian Head or just Gold Indian these $2.5 Gold coins are also called quarter eagles. Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition, indicates the coin retains sharp details, original luster, and has excellent eye appeal, making it a premium example for collectors.
